Former England wicket-keeper Geraint Jones has joined Gloucestershire after signing a two-year deal with the club.
The 38-year-old, who was part of the England team in Ashes 2005, has played 34 Tests and 49 ODIs for England.
The Papua New Guinea-born right-handed batsman will replace the Australian opener Michael Klinger and will captain the side in the LV= County Championship next season.
"I'd like to thank Kent for the fantastic 15 seasons I spent with them," Jones told the club's official website.
"Following an enjoyable month with Gloucestershire during 2014, I am excited to be joining the club and for the challenges that lie ahead.
"This is a young and talented squad and I relish the opportunity of working with them and to playing a part in their development.”
Jones has scored 8,615 runs and took 586 catches and 36 stumpings in 193 first-class cricket.
